Democracy works best when people are engaged. Many recent changes to government policy limit public participation. We think that’s a bad idea. The Ontario government has gone overboard with Ministerial Zoning Orders (MZO’s) removing vital environmental legislation, strong Mayor powers and removing land from Ontario's Greenbelt for select development friends.
Laws designed to protect clean water resources, nature and the future health of the region are not red tape. We need governments that makes decisions in the best interest of people and the common good — not the interest of sprawl developers.
